About the role:

We are looking to employ a Log Marshalling Supervisor to oversee the Marshalling operations in Napier.  This will require providing the direction and supervision of small teams with the focus being on maximizing the efficiency and quality of all operational tasks carried out within the area of control.  The safety of all staff and personnel associated with the Napier operation is of paramount importance and will always take priority over any other demands.  The successful candidate will ideally have NZQA Log Scaler certificate and or Log Makers certificate and previous log inventory management or other related industry skills.  The accurate control and recording of inwards, stored and dispatched goods, both in terms of physical handling and also the record keeping and data entry of movements is also a key task for this role.

Key skills and attributes required for this role:

  • Excellent knowledge of Port log export operations.
  • Ability to work successfully in a high pressure environment.
  • Previous experience supervising small teams
  • Good thorough verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, extensive knowledge of working in other various software programs.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility to travel to other ISO New Zealand Port operations.
